Examination scheme & source discrepancies

The source lists 3 hours, 70 end-semester marks and 30 sessional marks.

Some marking instructions are internally inconsistent. Confirm the current pattern with your department; the practice questions here do not claim to reproduce it.

Maximum Time: 3 hours Maximum Marks: 70 Part- A (10x2=20 Marks) Two lines or quotes for explanation from prescribed poems. Remaining 08 questions (2 from each unit) are to be set from Unit 2, 3, 4 and 5. Answer to each question shall be limited up to 30 words. Each Question carries 01 mark. Part- B: (5x10=50 Marks) Unit 1: The Candidates shall attempt two references out of four. At least one reference should be set from each unit. (5 X 2= 10) Unit 2,3,4 and 5: Answer one out of two questions from each unit. Answer to these questions shall be limited to 500 words.

Only Semester I and II are documented in this four-page institutional copy; do not infer later papers from the 2024–27 filename.

Part A heading gives 10x2=20 marks but its text says each question carries 01 mark. Confirm marking with the department.

Source prints The Tiger and the Dear and Manmohan Gosh; canonical spellings/titles need primary-text confirmation.

Poetry Unit I is a reference-to-context unit. This unit allocation differs from the 2026–27 Major paper.
